Anchor Replacement in Joshua Tree NP

Preaux and his son, Anthony, joined Kellen and me earlier this month on a bolt/anchor replacement mission in Josh. We journeyed out to the Iceberg Boulder slab to retro-bolt the manky anchors at one of Kellen's favorite climbing spots. Thanks for the pics, Jeremy.

Packed and ready to hit the trail

Going to work with the prybar

Bingo!

Hand drilling in monzonite (granite) is not fast

One down, one to go... Look at that shiny new SS 3/8" bolt!

Scary! The second button head pops off with little effort

Young Anthony takes a turn with the drill and hammer

Kellen is worn out from a day of good deeds
